Wagner James Au, author of the New World Notes blog, has written about high-tech culture for over 10 years. Amongst other exploits, he's the author of the book, The Making of Second Life: Notes from the New World (HarperBusiness). He even has eminent dudes singing his praises, “No one knows Second Life better, or, more important, its extraordinary importance to first life.” — Laurence Lessig, professor Stanford Law School The New World Notes blog covers everything you can think of about SL, including Romance, Machinima (in-world film making), fashion, awards, events and what seems like real 'insider' information on LL. Well worth a look! As well as shopping in-world - there are 1000's of stores to be found - SL goodies can also be bought from SL Marketplace.
The Marketplace is a huge web site where designers list their SL creations for sale or even as freebies. You can log into the Marketplace to browse and purchase their virtual goods using Linden dollars (L$). Shopping via Marketplace is fun and often quicker than teleporting from one in-world store to another. A fair, concise and accurate overview of the virtual world, Second Life. com. If you're interested but not sure about SL, this is a good place to start your investigation. Seems there's at least one genuine SL-made millionaire out there. Pity it aint me! haha Take a look here! |
